With Knight Foundation support, Singularity University has launched its Global Impact Competition in Miami calling on innovators to answer the question: How would you solve South Florida’s sea level rise challenge and improve the lives of a million people in three to five years by using technology? Two winners will then get the opportunity to build that idea with Singularity support. They will receive full tuition to Singularity University’s 10-week graduate studies program this summer in Silicon Valley where they will work in teams with participants from around the world to build out ideas to humanitarian challenges. The competition is open to all U.S. residents, but ideas must focus on the challenge of sea level rise in South Florida.
Interested? Attend an information session on the competition this coming Wednesday, March 18 at The LAB Miami at 6 pm. You can sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/global-impact-competition-miami-information-session-and-talk-by-singularitys-salim-ismail-tickets-16108633356. This is part of an effort at Knight Foundation focused on supporting and propelling high-impact entrepreneurs as a way to build community. Singularity presents its Global Impact Competition in countries around the world but this is the first time it has focused on a specific area, such as sea level rise.
